MISSED CONNECTION
Jane and Brier see each other for the first time at a mutual friend’s college graduation party. They miss their chance for love at first sight.
THE MEET-CUTE
Brier is the cinematographer for a short film Jane is acting in. They spend the whole time flirting. Filming wraps and Jane leaves, but needs to return to retrieve her lost mitten. She goes in for a hug with Brier, who happily obliges. She leaves for real this time, mitten on hand.
MOVIE MOMENT
Despite a winter storm, they meet up to attend the showing for the short film contest. Their film did not place. They hold hands for the first time. All in all, they still call it a win.
TWO-FOR-ONE
They accidentally have their first date on Valentine’s Day. Because they spend too much of the day talking, they miss their opportunity to go out to dinner, so they make pierogies at Jane’s house instead. They share their first kiss and their first “I love you.” (They’re pretty easy-breezy about saying it for the first time.)
HOME SWEET HOME
The couple move into their first apartment, a historical blue split-house in downtown Rochester with gas leaks and no hot water for over a month.
A LITTLE HUSKY
Brier finds a husky puppy on a rescue dog website. They argue about names for a day or two and settle on Olivia. The blue-eyed beauty steals their hearts.
HAPPY TOGETHER
Jane and Brier spend a while enjoying life together—both adventures and mundane day-to-day alike.
PEAK ENGAGEMENT
The pair venture to see the foliage in the Adirondacks. Brier takes a bunch of Polaroids of Jane as they hike. At the top, he shows her the prints, but the last one says, “Will You Marry Me?” Brier gets down on one knee. Jane says yes.
